News Update...2013 - 2014 Turf Paradise race meet....Quarter horses will be racing year round at Turf Paradise. October 2013 till May 2014. This is a great opportunity for the Racing Community to again pull together and make live racing a year round reality in Arizona... The Fall Futurity and Derby schedule is out and blanks are available by clicking at the top of this page. Please keep your horses ready and remember that payments will begin June 15th for some of the Fall races. You can always call me at 602-625-0468. You can use your credit card to make any payments for a 3% surcharge.
The opening of the track in Prescott Valley for live racing in 2013is still on the burner but looking less possible with every passing day. The latest information is that a short August/ September meet might happen. They have agreed to open the lower barn area and arena for a boarding facility beginning Thursday May 9. $3.00 per stall will be charged. Walkers will be available...Anyone interested can contact the HBPA office for a contract.
AQRA is always looking men or women to serve on their Board of Directors. We need people to step up today to help take this organization forward in these very trying times. The AQRA·continued to sponsor the Arizona Triple Crown for 2012.·· The horse with the most points for running in these three races will receive this award.··The winner was Madd Dog, for owners and breeders Ralph and Carrie Fales and trainer Matt Fales, who accumlated 27 points. ·Madd Dog is an Arizona Bred gelding by Dog Daze Afternoon and·out of the mare·Merriroc.· The Arizona bred gelding won the Desert Classic Futurity, receiving 10 points for the first leg. The second leg was the AQRA Restricted Futurity and he ran third and received 8 points. The third leg of the Arizona Triple Crown is The Margie Bryan ASOA Futurity G3 , and Madd Dog ran an impressive second and received 9 points. The horse with the next highest earned points was Harlee Tucker also owned,breed and trained by the Fales.
The AQRA's on line Stallion Service Auction is still open and stallion services can be purchased for the minimum bid....We want to thank all the stallion owners for their generous donations each year and to the repeat buyers that support our auction on a yearly basis. Good Luck and Great racing...
